Norman Gibson Burbury was born on 13 October 1921, at Tumut, New South Wales, Australia.[1] He was the son of Malcolm Robert Burbury (1888-1947) and Thelma Oke Manning (1895-1972).
Norman married Winifred Mary Young (1921-2018) on 29 March 1947, at Jericho, Tasmania, Australia.
At St. James' Church, Jericho, on Saturday, Winifred Mary Young was married to Norman Gibson Burbury, a former POW of the Japanese, who is the only son of Mr and Mrs M. R. Burbury, Tumut (NSW). THE bride, who is the youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs W. Young, Lewisham, Ross, was given away by her father. She wore a frock of white net and a matching veil caught to a wreath of pink roses. She carried a prayerbook which had been carried by her grandmother at her wedding 65 years ago. Miss Mavis Young, sister of the bride, was her only attendant. Her frock was of blue crepe and she wore a blue veil and matching flowers in her hair. Her brother, Mr Roland Young, was best man. The reception was held at Park Farm, Jericho, the bridegroom's grandmother's home. The bride travelled in a blue suit with black accessories. The future home of Mr and Mrs Burbury will be at Wyangle.[2] |

He passed away on 22 October 1994, at Manilla, New South Wales, Australia. Norman is buried at Manilla General Cemetery, Manilla, New South Wales, Australia.[3]
