George Bunt was born in New South Wales, Australia

George Henry Bunt was born on 31st December 1901 in Bowral, New South Wales, Australia. He was the older son of William Bunt and Ellen Ford. [1]

George Bunt is a Military Veteran.
Served in the Australian Volunteer Defence Corps 1942-1945.
13th Battalion

On 13th January 1942, with the Second World War fast escalating, George enlisted in the Australian Army's Volunteer Defence Corps. He was posted to the 13th Battalion, based in the Southern Highlands; where he discovered some of his cousins. The war over, and won, he was discharged on 15th September 1945. [2] Having served at least three years, he was awarded the Australia Service Medal 1939-1945.

Aged 85 years, he passed away, unmarried, on 13th September 1987 in Burrawang, New South Wales. [3]
