Biography
This profile is part of the Galesville, Wisconsin One Place Study.
Ann was born October 22, 1823 in South Hartwick, Otsego County, New York. She married David Oyer Van Slyke of Herkimer, New York in 1834. They most likely met in Ashford or Ellicottville, New York. They later moved to Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin in about 1845. Sometime between 1854 and 1857 they finally settled in Galesville, Wisconsin. Together they had eight children. At the age of 74 she died in nearby Treampealeau, Wisconsin. It is believed she is buried in the Galesville Cemetery where husband David is buried but as yet her head stone has not been located.
