Biography

Gloria (Bultman) Gore is a part of US Black heritage.

Gloria Bultman was born in 1925. She was the daughter of William Bultman and Alease McLeod. She passed away in 2007.

• Gloria Bultman Gore, 82, died at the Orangeburg Regional Medical Center, Orangeburg, SC, on September 8, 2007.

Born in Sumter, SC, in 1925, she was the third child of the late William Francis Bultman and Alease Gloria McLeod Bultman, who had six children. Gloria Bultman earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Childhood Education from South Carolina State in 1946 and a Master of Science Degree in Childhood Education from South Carolina State in 1955. She also completed further studied at Howard University and SC State College. She was a founding member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and attended faithfully until her health declined. She was also a loyal member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Orangeburg Alumni Chapter and the 13 Hearts Bridge Club. She was a talented and enthusiastic artist who illustrated a "True Fairy Tale", a children's book about life of George Washington Carver, written by Soror Alethia Lightner Lewis, published in 1952. In 1951, she married Blinzy Lee Gore who taught at the South Carolina State Law School and later became the Vice-President for Academic Affairs at Claflin College. Gloria Bultman Gore retired from the Orangeburg School District 5 after teaching for 30 years at several elementary schools including Riverside, Nis and Sheridan.

Gloria Bultman Gore was a devoted and loving mother and is survived by her sons, Brian Gore of Savannah, GA, and William (Pamela) Gore of Charleston, SC; granddaughter, Andrea Gore of Chicago, IL; sister, Ruby McDonald (Harry) of Kennewick, WA; brother, Charles Bultman of Sumter, SC; nieces, Ramona Lewsi of Cary, NC, and Alease Chabrack (Doug) of NJ; and nephews, Charles Bultman (Lynette) of San Francisco, CA, Eric Bultman and Thomas Bultman, both of Sumter, SC, William Bultman of Winston-Salem, NC, Charles Talley of Charlotte, NC, and William Talley (Tsalat) of Salisbury, MD; and other relatives and friends.
