BUCKMAN, EDWARD A.—Age, 21 years. Enlisted, August 12, 1862, at Morristown, to serve three years; mustered in as corporal, Co. C, August 27, 1862; promoted sergeant, 15 April 1863; promoted first sergeant, 15 Apr 1864; discharged for disability, May 15, 1865. Commissioned, not mustered, first lieutenant, January 26, 1865, with rank from January 7, 1865, vice C. Snyder, promoted. With C Co, 106th NY he saw some of the most intense action of the war, battles at Martins Ferry (wounded), the Wilderness, Cold Harbor, Petersburg, and Winchester, VA where he was severely wounded, requiring a year to partially recover.
