Adolph Schott
As seventh priest, we will add the name of Rev. Adolph Schott. This young priest was not born in St. Michaels Parish, but since he had no home in America, he spent most of his time with relatives--the families of Zurcher [aka Zircher], Siegel and Brucken. His wish, and those of this relatives, was granted in that he could say his first Holy Mass at St. Michaels. He was born in Germany in Shirrheim [aka Schirrhein], Strassburg in August 12, 1867. He was the son of Mathias Schott and wife nee Zurcher. He came to America in his early years. He joined the Society of the Precious Blood and studied at Carthagena. He was ordained June 21, 1898 by Archbishop Elder and read his first Holy Mass July 5, 1898, at St. Michael's. The Rev. Gottfried Schlacter C.P.P.S., a renowned missionary, preached the sermon."
