Biography

Mary Browne (d. 04 Feb 1616/7), was the daughter of:

  • Sir Anthony Browne, KG, 1st Viscount of Montagu,[1]
  • and his first wife Alice, dau. of Sir John Gage, KG.[1][2]

She was named in her brother Anthony's 1592 will.[3]

Marriages and Children

She married twice.[4]

Her first husband was Lord John Grey of Pirgo,[1] (d. 1564).[4] He was the 4th son of Thomas Grey, 2nd Marquess of Dorset.

Magna Carta Ancestry (2011), states that Mary and John had eight (8) children, including four (4) sons and four (4) daughters.[2]

She remarried to Henry Capell (d. 22 June 1588) as his second wife. She was his widow in 1588, and was the defendant in a lawsuit in 1616 and finally died 4 Feb 1616/7.[2]
