Biography
Ann Brown was born in 1851 on cemetery records; place unknown to William Brown and Ema Holberry. Ann Brown was born in Manningham, Bradford, Yorkshire, England on 14 November 1850 to William and Elizabeth Brown. She was baptized on 25 July 1852 at St. Peter's Church, Bradford as her father was a coachman.[1]
Census 1881 informs their address to be Heap Lane Bradford, Yorkshire, Eng.
She married Joseph Cordingley on 10 October 1877 in the Bradford Parish church, Yorkshire Eng. UK [2]and they had two sons before leaving England.
After arrival in 1882 they had three more children. The total of five children are named- John William Cordingley, Frank Cordingley, George Cordingley, Fanny Cordingley and Robert Cordingley.
Shipping- As Anna Cordingley age 29 years arrived Brisbane on the ship "Mairi Bahn" with her husband and two children, John age 4 years, and Frank an infant.
Resided at Beaudesert Road, Salisbury after leaving the Kingston district; an advertisement appeared in the Telegraph 14 July 1932; "For Sale 6 roomed house and land, Cordingley, Salisbury".
Ann died age 89 to 90 on 24 August 1941 and she was buried in Kingston Pioneer Cemetery; in latter days the cemetery is situated in Logan City, not Brisbane.
Parent's names on death record are John Cordingley and Susanna Firth,
