The Will of John Brown of Sturton in the County of Nottingham was dated 4 Feb 1775 and probated in November of that year. It names: Son in Law William Johnson, daughter Ann Brown, William Johnson Senior of West Burton, wife Ann Brown, and son in Law Francis Johnson.^[3]

John Brown Senior was buried at Sturton Le Steeple in Mar 1775.^[4]
