Biography

Learned was born on 11 May 1803 in Oxford, Worcester, Massachusetts. His parents were Joseph Brown and Anna Davis.^[1]

Learned Brown and Sarah Rice married on 26 Nov 1829 in Framingham, Middlesex, Massachusetts.^[2]

Note

The Data Error "210 Father was dead before birth" states Learned's death date as 1832, but his son was born in 1857. Death date on Learned's grave photo is not decipherable on Find A Grave: Memorial #116176980. It may be a typo by the person who developed the memorial page. No other death records were found on Family Search to verify one way or the other. Ancestry lists several death records from Massachusetts that give the death date as 1832, including Learned's will. However, no son is mentioned in the will, only 2 daughters and his wife.

The son's dates appear to be correct as his grave is easily read and matches what is on his Find A Grave Memorial. The son attached here, Abijah L Brown, appears to be the son of a different man, as his marriage record lists his father as John L . Brown and mother Mary Gay.^[3]
