Biography

John Brown was born 14 Jun 1828 in Premnay, son of David Brown and Mary Robb. ^[1]

In the 1841 census, John was living with his parents and siblings David, Mary, and William at Nether Edengerook in Premnay^[2]. In the 1851 census, John, now age 21, is with his parents and siblings Mary and William and several servants at Edingarroch in Premnay^[3]. In the 1861 census, John is still at the same location with his parents and siblings Mary and William and several servants^[4].

John married Jane Stephen on 03 Aug 1869 at George St in Huntly^[5]. Jane was a 21 year old from Glenbucket and John was a 44 year old Farmer from Premnay. Witnesses were David Robb and William Hogg. They had one child, Johnia Brown b 11 July 1870^[6]. John, age 42, died 09 Jul 1870 of Bronchitis at Edingarioch, Premnay, 2 days before their daughter was born. His father David Brown was the death informant.
