Biography

Teresa was born in 1959. I am the eldest of five children born to George Brown and Noela Horne. Baptised in Murgon, Qld in 1972. Moved to Brisbane after High School in 1977. Married twice, 2 children and 3 grandchildren. Moved to Hervey Bay for a healthier lifestyle in 2015 and still enjoying it here.

Outside of genealogy, I like baking, sewing for myself, teddy bear making, crochet and knitting, pottering about in the garden.

My Mum and her Mother were wonderful cook's and gardener's and I feel I have inherited both these qualities from them.

Hello Teresa- Thank you so much for working on the Litson family! William Litson (1807) and Elizabeth Brown are my 3x great grandparents. William has been my brick wall for years but recently I've discovered a bit more. I know he did not die in 1837 because I have a copy of a letter he wrote to his son William Henry Litson in the US in 1869. Wm. lived in an area called Deloraine in Tasmania. The Litsons named so many of their sons William that I know it is confusing. I'm still trying to learn to navigate this site but I can try to send the records im finding and any other information you may be interested in. Thank you.- Annie

Hi Annie, I have had this stuff written down for ages but haven't had the chance to add onto wiki. Glad I could help you out. Richard and Jane appear to have had 3 sons named William and two named John and all but one lived into adulthood. Will fix up the death info on William for you. I'm only glad i could help you. Cheers Teresa
Hi Teresa,

You are managing a profile for Robert GREENWOOD (born 1841) who is my wife's great grandfather. I thought you may be interested in some further details - as you already know he was born in Baulkham Hills (date of birth 15 November 1841) to John GREENWOOD and Maria KENTWELL. Robert married Moraitte Jane BATES (born 1845, Botany, NSW) on 8 October 1862.

Between them I know of 8 children :-

Alice M GREENWOOD born 1862 George RH GREENWOOD born 1864 Albert E GREENWOOD born 1865 Sarah J GREENWOOD born 1867 Robert E GREENWOOD born 1870 Milford William GREENWOOD born 1872 Alfred John GREENWWOD born 1877 Oswald Henry GREENWOOD born 1879 (my wife's grandfather).

Sadly the GREENWOOD family connection was broken, with rumours of a falling out between Oswald (Ozzie) and his siblings. If you can add anything to the background here I'd love to be able to add it into the details of my wife's family tree.

Best Regards

Bob Stephenson

Hi Teresa,

You do not have to be involved in any projects on WikiTree. How involved you are depends on you.

If you have any other questions, please contact me.

Have a good day, and please be safe.

Cheryl ~ Pre-1700 Greeter

Hi Teresa!

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz.

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus. Review the project pages for special guidelines and to learn how to collaborate with the project members.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

Hi Cheryl,

Thank you for contacting me about pre- 1700. I will very rarely be adding anyone pre 1700 as they often have very little source information with them. Do I have to be involved in a project as I barely have enough time to add what I already do? Regards Teresa.

Dear Teresa

Please do not add user trees as sources. Please see the link Dave has provided below. Also, if you are planning on editing pre1700 English profiles please contact the England Project before you start.

Thanks

No worries! Happy to help!  :-)
Hi Teresa,

Thank you for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Participation in a Pre-1700 Project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Collaboration is essential because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants.

It looks like the England Project would be a good fit with the tag you entered. Adding the tag England will help you get updates about activity for that project.

Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)

Hi Teresa,

Thank you for your contributions to our tree.

The sources that you are using on the profiles that you entered recently (Family Search trees and Geni.com) are, in the cases where I have checked, unsourced. And an online tree is only as good as the sources it cites!

Please take another look at our examples of sources on our help page at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Sources#Examples

Thanks!

Dave

Hi Teresa, you are adding pre-1700 profiles without adding adequate sources. You are reminded about the pre-1700 profile and sourcing requirements on WikiTree. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Pre-1700_Profiles requirements and https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Sources

Please don't add profiles without appropriate sources. Please coordinate with the England project if you are having trouble finding sources. Thanks. Gillian. Leader, England Project.

Hi Teresa, just letting you know that I have joined Mary Irwin (Irwin-3100) up with the rest of her family. Mary was the sister of my 4x great grandfather John Irwin. I would be interested to know how she fits into your family?

No problem, my pleasure, Teresa, Ronald's father Oliver & my Gr, Grandfather, William Henry Vidler were brothers. It's great to link to another descendant. Thanks for your reply. Eileen
Hi

Wish you a Happy New Year. May 2018 bring you all you need to be happy.

Congratulation for adding your contributions in December. Whatever the quantity of your contributions, they all count. As we always say "Quality is better than quantity" to make a great family tree.

Thank you for being a Wikitreer,

Hi Teresa,

Please be careful not to create duplicate profiles and pay attention to potential matches that appear when you are creating profiles.

Several duplicates were just created. I have submitted merge requests for them.

Thanks!
