Biography

James was born about 1801. He was the son of John Brown and Jean Maxwell.

James married Janet Currie on the 16th of June 1827 and had four children together: Jane, Marion, Margaret and Janet.[1]

Sadly, his wife died soon after baby Janet's birth in 1834. With four young daughters, James quickly married Agnes Crinzian who would raise his young children and go on to have three more of their own: John, Robert and James.[2]
