Sydney Brown was born in Ireland.

Sydney Brown was born in 1831, in Ireland. He was baptised the son of John S Browne, and Margaret Anne unknown, on 8th August, 1831. The baptism was held in Rathkeale, Limerick, Ireland. [1]

Sydney married Mary Cox, daughter of William Cox, of Ballynoe, co. Limerick, on 28 April 1858.

April 28, at Ballingarry Church, county of Limerick, by the Rev. George G. Gubblns, Sydney Reynett Brown. Esq., Commissariat Staff, son of John Southwell Brown, of Mount Brown. Esq.. J.P., to Mary, daughter of William Cox, of Ballynoe, Esq. J.P. for the same county.

Mary died in Canada on 30 April 1862, aged 30 years and six months. [2]

Mary Cox, wife of Sydney Reynett Brown of Quebec, [ ] Assistant commissary General, aged thirty years and six months, died on the thirtieth of April, and was buried this second day of May in the year of Our Lord, one thousand eight hundred sixty two.

On 8th March 1866, Sydney married Charlotte Blandy. The marriage took place at the consulate in Madeira.

In 1881, Sydney and his wife were residing in Madeira Marlboro Road, Chiswick, Middlesex. Sydney was a retired commissary. The couple had three daughters in the household. The household employed two servants. [3]

In 1891, Sydney and his wife were residing in Chiswick, Middlesex. In the household were five daughters and one son. [4]

In 1901, Sydney was seen residing with his wife and three daughters in Camberwell, London, Middlesex. He was 69-years-old. [5]

Sydney passed away in 1903 at the age of 71. His death was registered in Camberwell. [6] His probate was released on 25th March 1903 and named his wife as beneficiary. [7]
