Thomas S Brown was in Company D, 47th Regiment of the Georgia Infantry in the Civil War (Vol 5, p. 35, Roster of Confederate Soldiers in Georgia). He died as a prisoner of war in Elmira, New York. His wife, Amy, drew his Civil War pension of .00 from 1896 to 1900. In 1901, she was no longer living (Soldiers and Widows Pension Book, 1890 - 1917).
