Archibald Brown was possibly born on 14 August 1799 and baptised on 1 September 1799 in Muirkirk, Ayrshire[1][2]
Research notes
- There are two entries for a James Brown born to Archibald Brown and Agnes Gibson in Muirkirk in 1799 in the OPR baptismal indexes, one in August and one in September. It is possible that the August entry relates to his birth, and the September entry to his baptism. It also possible that there were two couples with the same name in Muirkirk in 1799. The next child listed in Muirkirk with the same parents wasn't born/baptised until 1811 - a large gap for that period Templeton-1883 11:41, 15 July 2017 (EDT)
- Removed Agnes Gibson as mother since that Agnes wasn't born until 1873; relpaced her with new Agnes Gibson Templeton-1883 12:13, 15 July 2017 (EDT)
