Biography
John was the son of Richard Brown (as mentioned in his marriage record). John married Matilda (Murray) Brown in 1850 -[1].
John was deceased at the time of his daughter Susan's marriage in 1888.
Research Notes
- -Unable to find where John Brown was born. The children all settled in Lanarkshire, but all married other Irish immigrants. Some returned to Ireland. John could have been Irish or Scottish.
- -Did John and Matilda have other children? They were married in 1850 but the first recorded child I could find was in 1864. It seems highly unusual to be married for 14 years before having any chidlren at all.
