Research Notes

Sources below are an apparent conflation of two men from the same county with the same name.

There are at least two George Brooks in Cocke County b. ca. 1836-8. While Matthew and Martha Brooks have a son George b. ca. 1837, George Brooks (1804-1859) and his wife also have a son, George b. ca. 1836. FS and fg show this George that md. Shell, as the son of George Brooks (1804-1859) based on both being buried near each at the Brooks Cemetery and notes left by Pearl Brooks.
