Actress Carole Grace was the wife of the actor Walter Matthau for 41 years. She met him on Broadway when they appeared in "Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter?" in the 1950s.
She was also a successful writer, penning her autobiography "Among the Porcupines" and later wrote a well-received novel "The Secret in the Daisy".
Carol's first (and second) husband was William Saroyan. They were married from 20 February 1943 to 17 November 1949. They divorced. Then remarried each other on 25 March 1951 and that again ended in divorce on 6 March 1952.
Her daughter with William Saroyan, actress Lucy Saroyan, died in April 2003. She died from a brain aneurysm in New York.
