I have in my possession a book : Records of the Dunlops of Dunlop compiled by Robert Reid and published January 1, 1900 in Ayshire Scotland . The book has over 200 pages . My particular interest at this time is the Boyds. I am trying to trace my linage back to early kings of Scotland. I need information on Robert 4th Lord Boyd : birth, death, & wife .

My father was Reid Brodie, Jr. his father was Thomas Allen Reid Brodie ( later changed to Reid Brodie, Sr, by his mother, Margaret Reid, because she did not like the initialls TAR.) I have traced the Brodie name back to Robert ( 1847-1899 ) then Robert of N ?? (1809- 1874 ) and finally to William ( 1761-1842 ). At this spot my tree says William Breadine took Mary Brodie as his wife and then took her Brodie name.== Biography ==

Reid, I believe that Buzan-5 and Buzan-37 are the same person and should be merged. Do you agree?

Reid, do you happen to speak any other languages? Would you check out our languages template and add it to your biography? For example you might add

{{ Languages | en | fr-2 | ga-1 }}

to the top of your biography if you speak English natively, intermediate French and basic Irish, or you could use de-4 to specify near-native German or ru-1 for basic Russian, and so forth up to ten languages.

It really helps to know who speaks all the different languages used on WikiTree! If you only speak English, you're very welcome to use this text to make that clear:

{{ Languages | en }}

Thanks,

Karen

HI, I see you are working on merges, you may want to review Merging FAQs to understand your responsibilities in doing merges. Remember, after the merge you will want to clean up the text. During a merge, the text from the merged-away profile is simply appended onto the end of the text of the merged-into profile. You will want to integrate it into a single biography and a single sources section. If you have any questions, just let me know.

Hi again - don't know if the sources listed on the links I posted include one to Brodie Castle, so I went looking:

http://www.nts.org.uk/Property/Brodie-Castle/

http://www.scotland-inverness.co.uk/Chatelaine/BRODIE.HTM

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brodie_Castle

Enjoy!

Hi! I'm a WikiTree Mentor, like Guy, & stopped by to see how you were doing on your "anniversary" (a day late... you volunteered to join just over a month ago - so glad you did!).

I saw some of your profiles include the template for Clan Brodie, so I assume you found the Scottish Clans Project. If you were interested in joining the project, check out its project page - http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Scottish_Clans - the page includes links to resources that might be of interest too. It's a sub-project of Project:Scotland, which also lists resources. And if you haven't yet found online resources for Brodie Castle, you might want to ask in G2G - tag your question scottish_clans scotland brodie (at least).

If you're stuck on anything, give me or Guy a holler!

Cheers, Liz

Hi .

I see that you just did the Pre-1700 Self-Certification. That's great!

Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically-significant ancestors? Let me know. I can help you figure out if there's a project and introduce you to the project leaders.

Guy
