Heinrich Friedrich August Brockmann was born on 15 May 1847. [1] He was the son of Heinrich Friedrich Conrad Brockmann and Johanne Friederike Woltemate. [1] He was baptized on 30 May 1847 in Hörsum, Hannover, Germany. [1]

He married Johanna Ahrens on 25 March 1870 in Will County, Illinois. [2] They had the following children:
