Biography

Donald was born in 1931. He was the son of William Britton and Violet Stephenson. He passed away in 2016.

• Donald Britton, age 85 of Clayton, NJ, formerly of Haddon Twp., and Deptford, passed away on Wednesday September 14, 2016. Beloved husband the late Beatrice Britton (nee McDowell). Loving father of Donna (Walter) Kunz, Richard (Leslie) Britton, Charlotte (Joe) Mellace, Dawn (John) Nystedt, and Sandra Weitzel. Proud grandfather of Mary Jo (Chris) Waters, Stacey (Dan) Savage, Joey Mellace, Michael Mellace, Olivia Weitzel, Jake Britton, David Nystedt, Adam Britton, and Nicholas Nystedt; great-grandfather of Christopher, Rocky, Dominic, Brook, Rhea, and Benjamin. He is also survived and will be sadly missed by his best friends Alice (the late Charlie) Wilson, Nancy (Merrell) Clouden, Jean (the late Harry) Rosell, and Toni (the late Ronnie) Renwick, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Donald was born in Camden, NJ and was a longtime Deptford resident before moving to Haddon Township, and then to Clayton. He was a longtime member of the Almonesson United Methodist Church in Deptford. Mr. Britton proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Donald worked as a manager for several area grocery stores, and then went on to work as a security guard at Camden County College for many years. Mr. Britton was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan, and will be greatly missed by his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who he loved so dearly.
