Mary "Polly" Bridges was born August 29, 1806, in Clairborne county, Tennessee, a daughter of Thomas Bridges and Martha "Patsy" (Mayes) Bridges. Mary married Asaph "Asa" Webb, who settled in Jackson county, Missouri in 1844. Asa's brother, Allen and his cousin Larkin Webb and their families lived along the Sni-a-Bar Creek, in eastern Jackson county. [1] Children of Mary and Asa include:
Hewitt Preston "Press" Webb, born July 6, 1836, in Missouri, died January 31, 1899, in Jackson county, Missouri, fought in the Civil War battles at Carthage, Wilson Creek and Lexington, under the command of General Price, taken prisoner by the Union Army on December 27, 1862, married Mary Perry
Thomas Bridges Webb, born July 3, 1839, in Jackson county, Missouri, died October 21, 1928, wounded in action at Wilson's Creek, Springfield, Missouri and was captured while fighting in Jackson county, on May 28, 1862, married Melissa Ellen Stephenson
Mary A. Webb, born 1842, died February 1907, married Thomas G. Parsons in 1872

Mary (Bridges) Webb died January 16, 1889, at the age of 82 years and is buried in the Webb cemetery, in Independence, Missouri. [2]
