Paternal Side confirmed ancestor was Pilgrim Elder William Brewster of the ship Mayflower voyage in 1620. through father Christopher Charles Brewster (his first and middle names were flipped often but he went by Charles). His parents were George Berry Brewster and Avis Alfreda (Startz) Brewster.
Maternal grandmother was Martha Marie (Hatchett) Lovel, and she used the name of Marie. She loved to raise roses and also a garden right beside the house. When it was time to purchase a car for her to commute as a teacher, they bought a brand new 1971 Olds Cutlass-golden with white leather interior and a 350 Rocket engine. I distinctly recall throwing up in the back floorboard after gorging myself on his favorite candy of chocolate covered peanuts. The car was sold to a collector/restorer in the 1990's. A quick recent search by VIN number was fruitless :(.
Grandfather was Artie Boyd Lovel who regularly used "A.B. Lovel "as signature. They were long time members of the Methodist Church with Marie being active in the women's clubs. He was a rancher that owned approx a section of land and primarily raised Hereford Cattle until he "retired" in the early 1980's but still raised a few cattle in pens close to the house in rural Payne County by Stillwater, Okilahoma.
He grew mostly wheat, and also dabbled in new building as a carpenter. I can still remember him driving a nail in only a couple of hits with his favorite hammer that had duct tape wrapped around the handle.
Artie was the son of Sion Calaway Lovel who passed away in California. His mother was Sarah Pyatt. "Lovel" sometimes used as "Lovell". Marie was the daughter of Moses Samuel Hatchett and Emily Elvira Nichols.
Lots of biographical research and book on the Hatchett Family completed by Genealogist Bessie Mae Hatchett with Martha Marie Hatchett Lovel's assistance in the 1950's that has been entered in various published locations.
