Marguerite Breithaupt (pen name Marguerite Henry) was born in 1902, the daughter of Louis Breithaupt and Anna (Kaurup). She is best known for writing the Newbery Medal-winning novel King of the Wind and Newbery Honor-winning Misty of Chincoteague and Justin Morgan Had a Horse. She married Sidney Crocker Henry and passed away in 1997.
