Excerpt from page 696. of the referenced Poage book:
"Robert Breckenridge, farmer and merchant Louisville, KY who never married.; b. Augusta County, Va, 1754, d. Sep 10, 1833, an old and wealthy man but not married; Iieut in the American Revolution, captured and a prisoner as above and also settled at Louisville; mem of the Kentucky Convention to ratify the Constitution of the United States; mem and first speaker Ky House of Delegates; finally known as General Bob Breckenridge; buried at Floyd Station seven miles east of Louisville, which perhaps was the Floyd-Breckenridge plantation; devised half of his property, including lands and slaves, to Mrs. Marion Breckenridge in trust for the children of his nephew Henry, and the other half to his nephew James in trust for his daughter Eliza. Three of his slaves he ordered set free." [1]
He died unmarried in Louisville, Kentucky and is buried in Floyd-Breckinridge Cemetery, Plymouth Village, Jefferson County, Kentucky. [2]
