Allen was the son of Arthur Bratton and Edna VanDeusen. He was born on 5 July 1911 in Williamstown, Berkshire, Massachusetts, United States.^[1]

In the 1920 census Allen (age 8) was the son of Arthur G Bratton in Williamstown, Berkshire, Massachusetts, United States.^[2]

Allen (age 23), child of Arthur G Vanduesen & Edna S Vanduesen, married Marion L Stevens on 15 September 1934 in Williamstown, Massachusetts, United States.^[3]

Allen was in a military record on 16 October 1940 in New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut, United States.^[4]

Allen received his Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.^[5]

Allen was a biologist by training and a forester by trade. He belonged to the American Institute of Biological Sciences. He had articles published in such periodicals as The Journal of Forestry.

.Allen died (age 81) on 4 August 1992, he was residing in New York.^[6]
