Deanna Marie Dee Brasseur, CM was one of the first women to become a pilot in the Royal Canadian Air Force. She received her wings in February 1981. In June 1989, Major Brasseur was one of the first two woman pilots to fly the CF-18 Hornet jet fighter. She retired from military service in 1994 with 2,500 hours of jet flight experience. In 1998, Brasseur became a member of the Order of Canada.
