Research Notes:
The U.S., Find a Grave® Index, 1600s-Current profile for Nathan has the death date that is engraved on his grave marker, that of 25 Sep 1777. That date is an apparent error by the engraver as that date is the date of his wife Sarah (Gates) Brainerd death.
The erroneous date then appears in the "Connecticut, U.S., Hale Collection of Cemetery Inscriptions and Newspaper Notices, 1629-1934[8]
His actual death date of 24 Sep 1776 is well sourced:[9][10]
Double dating such as with child Lucy {1747/48} represent Julian/Gregorian dating systems.
