Eli was born about 1828 from his death registry entry, which gives his parents as John Thomas Braine and Elizabeth Baldwin. A baptism record exists for 17 Aug 1828 at West Camel, Somerset, for Eli, son of Thomas and Elizabeth Braine...
He married Louisa Shore in Victoria in 1863. [1]
