Research Notes
Several online family trees incorrectly show this Richard Brain married to an Elizabeth Baker with two or more children. There was a marriage between a Richard Brain and Elizabeth Baker on 19 February 1781 at Cherington, Warwickshire but their marriage license names his father as Nicholas Brain not Anthony Brain. The marriage record shows his place of residence as Barton on the Heath. He was actually Richard Brain (1762-1809) baptised in 1762 at Barton on the Heath, Warwickshire to Nicholas and Jane Brain. He died in November 1809 at Ditchford, Stretton on Fosse, and was buried at Barton on the Heath, and his will (proved on 2 April 1810 in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury) names his wife Elizabeth and children.
