Sarah Brain was born in 1839 and christened on 10 Mar 1839 at Stretton on Fosse, Warwickshire, England. She was the daughter of John Brain and Mary White.[1][2]
In the 1841 census, Sarah was age 2 living at Stretton on Fosse, Warwickshire with her father John Brain (27), mother Mary Brain (25), brothers Richard Brain (5), John Brain (1). Also her cousin Daniel White (15).[3]
In the 1851 census, Sarah was age 12 living at Quary Hill, Polesworth, Warwickshire with her father John Brain (37), mother Mary Brain (34), sister Ann Brain (7), brothers John Brain (11), George Brain (9), Richard Brain (4), William Brain (2), Robert Brain (0).[4]
Sarah Brain married Thomas Twamley (also spelled Twomley and other variations) on 14 Apr 1858 at Birmingham, Warwickshire.[5] They had six known children: Mary Twamley (1858–1858), Jesse Twombley (b. 1860), Thomas Twamley (1862–1863), Sarah Ann Twamley (b. 1865), Miriam Twamley (b. 1866), Thomas Twamley (b. 1869).
In the 1861 census, Sarah was age 22 living at Watling Street Road, Wilnecote, Warwickshire with her husband Thomas Twamley (26), son Jesse Twamley (0).[6]
Sarah was admitted to Warwick Asylum on 23 Jul 1869. She died there on 27 Feb 1870 age 30.[7][8]
