Alfred James Bradford was born on 10 August 1885 in Maldon, Colony of Victoria, the son of Emma Jane (Mitchell) Bradford and William Henry Bradford.[1]
He married Elizabeth May Lowther in 1905 in Surrey Hills, Victoria.[2]
Their children were:
4 June 1916, Alfred enlisted in the Australian Imperial Forces; Service number 6885 and was assigned to 28 Coy Depot, 7Rfts, 6th Battalion and later to 3rd Australian Mechanical Transport Company (AMTC). He attained the rank of M.T. Driver, saw action in France, was wounded in action on 25 August 1918, returned to Australia and was discharged on 7 June 1919[3].
Alfred died on 24 April 1928 in Maldon, Victoria[4] and was buried at the Maldon Cemetery, Maldon, Mount Alexander Shire, Victoria, Australia[5].
