Biography

John Bowman, the son of Benjamin Bowman and Sarah Unknown, was born 24 April 1790 in Rockingham County, Virginia. On 10 December 1811 he married Susannah Wine, the daughter of Michael Wine and Susannah Miller. Susannah Wine Bowman died in 1821. On 18 March 1823, John married her niece, Rebecca Wine, the daughter of John Wine and Elizabeth Garber.
