Biography

Nancy Worth Nancy C. Worth, a Hood River, Ore., resident, died Oct. 22, 2005, at her residence. She was 67 years of age. Services will be on Thursday, Oct. 26, at 11 a.m. at Idlewild Cemetery in Hood River. Nancy was born Dec. 23, 1937, in Hood River, to Galen and Madge (Simpson) Bowlby. She was raised and educated in Hood River, attending Coe Primary and May Street School. She graduated from Hood River High School in 1955. On Dec. 12, 1955, she and Robert Worth were married in Hood River. Nancy worked at Sprouse Reitz, Thriftway, Anderson’s Malt Shop, and the Bowling Alley in downtown Hood River, the Greyhound Bus Depot, J.C. Penney, and Franz Bakery. Nancy also worked as a day care provider for 20 years. She was an avid sports fan and also enjoyed bingo and spending time with her grandchildren and attending the sport activities. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Wayne Bowlby, and nephews, Frank and Aaron Bowlby. She is survived by her husband, Robert Worth, son, Robert Worth, and daughter Valori Worth and her companion, David Princehouse. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Tom Worth, Joshua and Coral Worth and Alicia Mitchell, brothers Vernon Bowlby of Corvallis, Ore., and Bob Bowlby of Cannon Beach, Ore.; sister Lillian McGee of Corvallis, and sister in law Evelyn Bowlby of Portland, Ore. Numerous nieces and nephews and her special little friend, Tyler Clifford Blanchette, also survive.
