Biography

Martha Bourne, daughter John Bourne and Alice (Bisbee) Bourne, was born in Marshfield, Plymouth Colony on April 4, 1653.^[1][2]

Martha married Valentine Decrowe on February 26, 1679 in Marshfield.^[3][4] They became the parents of the following known children, two sons and three daughters:

1. Margaret b. probably about 1680,^[5] m. September 18, 1702 Ebenezer Sherman,^[6] d. March 17, 1726 at Marshfield^[7]
2. John, bpt. September 11, 1683 in Marshfield,^[8] m. April 5, 1727 Mary Truant in Marshfield,^[9] d. before December 26, 1761^[10]
3. Susanna, b. May ___ [book torn] in Marshfield^[8]
4. Robert, b. January 17, 1690/1 in Marshfield^[11] m. December 20, 1716 Susanah Tilden in Marshfield,^[12] d. before March 12, 1761^[13]

Martha died on August 25, 1724.^[15][16] Although the inscription on her gravestone states that she was 72 when she died,^[15][16] she was actually only 71.
