Biography

BURIAL Saint Denis Basilique Saint-Denis, Departement de Seine-Saint-Denis, Île-de-France, France

French Royalty. He was the youngest child of Charles X of France and Marie Therese de Savoie. In 1820 he was assassinated by being stabbed while at the Paris Opera by Louis Pierre Louvel, a fanatic Bonapartist. His death the next day became a turning point in French politics. He married Maria Carolina of Bourbon-Sicily, and the couple had four children with a daughter and a son, born September of 1820, reaching adulthood. His son represented the last hope for the Bourbon dynasty. Sources state he had several children born out-of-wedlock. From 1801 to 1814, he lived in England.
