Flight Officer Joe Boswell was Killed in Action over Romania in Operation Tidal Wave during World War II.
Joe was born 14 November 1921 in De Leon, Texas. He was the son of John Thomas Boswell and Clara Nabors.[1]
He was killed in action when the B-24 bomber, Euroclydon The Storm, he was the co-pilot of took a direct anti-aircraft hit over the target in Ploesti Rumania during Operation Tidal Wave on 1 August 1943.[2]. He was posthumously awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for the mission.
