Biography

Mabel C. Boscow was born on March 15, 1880 in Ferndale, California.^[1] She married Arthur Monroe Free on November 11, 1905 in San Francisco.^[2] They had 5 children, including 2 sets of twins.^[3][4] Mabel traveled to France ^[5] and to Hawaii.^[1] She also traveled by ship with her husband from New York to San Francisco in 1927.^[6] On several of these trips, she gave her residence as Washington, D.C., presumably while her husband Arthur was serving in Congress. Mabel died on December 8, 1972 in San Mateo, California.^[7] She is buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, San Jose, California, sharing a headstone with her husband, Arthur.^[8]

Research Notes

Mable Boscow is the possible daughter of William A. Boscow. She is found in the household of her grandfather, George Boscow and several aunts and uncles. William A. is also in that household and states he is divorced.^[9] It is possible her mother is Millie Ludwig. ^[10]
