Maria Antonietta Borbone was a member of the aristocracy in Europe.

Biography

Maria Antonietta was the eighth child of Francesco I, King of the Two Sicilies, and the sixth child with his second wife, Isabel, Princess of Spain. She was born in the Royal Palace (Palazzo Reale or Palazzo dei Normanni) in Palermo, Sicily on 19 December 1814^[1] and apparently baptised as Maria Antonia Anna but used the name Maria Antonietta.^[2]

She married 7 June 1833 at Naples, as his second wife, Leopold II, Grand duke of Tuscany, of the family of Habsburg-Lorraine. Leopold was her first cousin, the son of Ferdinand III, Grand duke of Tuscany, and his first wife, Luisa, Princess of Naples and Sicily. They had 10 children.^[2]

Maria Antonietta died 7 November 1898 at Schloss Orth, near Gmunden in Upper Austria,^[3] and was buried in the Ferdinand section (Ferdinandsgruft) of the Habsburg Imperial Crypt in the Capuchin Church (Kapuzinerkirche) in Vienna.
