Biography
James was born in 1849 and passed away in 1926.[1]
In 1850 James was living with his parents and siblings in Jasper, Crawford, Arkansas.[2]
In 1870 he was living with his mother and brothers Benjamin and Homer.[3]
In 1880 he was living with his parents, brother Benjamin, wife Mary A. and son William E. in Perry, Marion, Indiana.[4]
In 1900 he was living with his wife (listed as Lola but actually Julia) and children (William T., Lola, and Homer C.) and several boarders in Union Township, Perry, Arkansas.[5]
In 1910 he was living with his wife Julia and sons Curtis and Fred A. in Greenup, Cumberland, Illinois.[6]
In 1920 he was living with his wife Julia and son Fred A. in Montrose, Effingham, Illinois.[7]
Research Notes
In the 1900 census his wife's name is listed as Lola. However, his son William was born in 1883 and his birth record lists his mother as Julia. In looking carefully at the image of the record I believe there is no Lola married to James, but it is a transcription mistake.
