Madge was born on the 2nd May 1889 in Bromley, Kent the daughter of Arthur Boosey and Lucy Ashton (Whitehead) Boosey.[1][2][3]
1891 Census on the 5th April 1891 Madge was living at 2 Hayes Lane, Bromley, Kent with her parents Arthur and Lucy and her brother Leslie.[4]
1901 Census on the 31st March 1901 Madge was living at The Cedars, 69 Oakley Road, Bromley, Kent with her parents Arthur and Lucy, and her sister Enid.[5]
1911 Census on the 2nd April 1911 Madge was living at The Cedars, 69 Oakley Road, Bromley, Kent with her parents Arthur and Lucy. Dorothy E. Whitehead was also visiting there.[6]
On the 21st June 1930 Madge, of Woodside, Keston, Kent, sailed aboard the Cunard 'Alaunia' from Southampton, Hampshire to Montreal, Canada. Also travelling with her were her cousin Charles Evelyn Boosey's wife Isabel Boosey, and their children Charles Boosey and Margaret Boosey, all of 1295 Regent Street, London. On the 1st September 1930, they all returned aboard the Cunard 'Ascania' from Quebec, Canada to London. Isabel and her family's address was Little Haverswood, Brasted Chart, Sevenoaks, Kent.[7][8]
Madge married Jack Hopton and the marriage was registered in the 1st quarter 1934 in Bromley, Kent.[9]
1939 National Register on the 29th September 1939 Madge was living at 3 Pickhurst Lane, Bromley, Kent with her husband Jack, and her mother Lucy.[3]
Madge, of Pickhurst Lane, Bromley, Kent, died aged 59 on the 29th January 1949 in Bromley, Kent.[10]
Probate of Madge's estate, £6463 6s. 7d., was processed in London on the 5th April 1949 and passed to her husband Jack Hopton a medical practioner, and to Alice Dobson a spinster.[11]

Madge served from 13 October 1914 until 31 December 1918 as Commandant at Kent 50 VAD (Voluntary Aid Detachment) (Bromley Common) based at Oakley Hospital.
There were three hospitals under the care of the Kent 50 VAD;
She was mentioned in dispatches in 1918 and was awarded the Member of Order of the British Empire in 1918.[12]
