Marten Pauluse Van Benthuysen, m. Albany, June 2, 1696, Feitje Boorsboom, dau. of Pieterse Jacobse Boorsboom, who was living early in Albany and was in Schenectady in 1662. His [Marten's] will is recorded in New York under date of October 18, 1686. Records show him as being a brick maker. Marten was one of fifteen who settled in Schenectady. With him were his brothers, Barent and Baltus, but they later returned to Albany. Marten served as a Captain Harmon Van Slyck's Second Foot Company of the Militia during the Indian wars. On the death of her father, Feitje inherited a quarter of his estate, worth 407 guilders. Due to the early destruction of Schenectady records, little is known of Marten's activities. It is possible that there were additional children, but no record of them can be found. Those we know of were born in Schenectady.
Feitje was born in 1672. Feitje Boorsboom ... She passed away in 1705. [3]
