Hi Rusty,

i see that you are doing some merges. Remember that you should find the final profile first, then merge all duplicates into that profile. So, if A, B, and C are duplicates and C is to be the final profile, don't merge A into B, then into C. Merge A into C and B into C, The system likes it done that way because there are fewer referrals. Thanks, Vic WikiTree Ranger

Rusty, completed merge of John Henry Hornsby, you are on the trusted list now. I have no documented information on the Hornsbys in SC. Moses Marion Hornsbys were neighbors of the Seaborn Golden family in Talapoosa Cty Ala and two of the Golden boys married Hornsby girls.

Rusty, you asked about the burial place of Daniel Axtell and his wife Rebecca. I have not seen a specific reference, but the land they lived on in Charleston, SC was called Newington plantation. The mansion was destroyed by fire in 1876. And the land was leased to the US Govt in 1861 which basically destroyed the grounds. In the description I read (see Axtell-2869), there is no mention of a cemetery. But I would imagine they're buried either on the grounds or nearby.

No. You just connect your GedCom to your tree. Wow! You have put up a lot of your tree! That is great! Pretend you only had your parents up. Then you would connect your GedCom to your tree by connecting your mom to her father and your dad to his father for example. It depends on who is in the GedCom but you connect the person in the GedCom related to the person on your tree by adding them in edit as parent, sibling etc. And then your whole GedCom is connected.

Hey Rusty,

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards .

If you need to describe an event, heirloom or a location relevant to your research, try Free Space Profiles .

If you run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving these unfortunate situations.

A project of note is the Global Family Reunion check it out at Global Family Reunion.

Hi Jean, You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree.

If you need any help getting started check out the help section from the menu, top left, or head over to the Help section or head over to the G2G forum and take a minute to introduce yourself in the Tree House, you might also want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.

Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you with specific problems if you have any.

Welcome! Patt

I'm researching my family tree and found a few matches here. I think I have some info to add to these and I'd love to add their info to my tree. Thanks!
