Phoebe was Choctaw.

Phoebe was born 30 Jan 1901 at Eagletown, Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory[2], the daughter of John Bohanan and Artie Amos. Phoebe passed away 10 Dec 1946 at Talihina, Le Flore, Oklahoma. She is buried at the Tonihka Cemetery, Eagletown, McCurtain County, Oklahoma.

The sources listed from the “Oklahoma Applications for Allotment, Five Civilized Tribes, 1899-1907” show the Oklahoma and Indian Territory, Land Allotment Jackets for Five Civilized Tribes, application for allotment affidavit, Choctaw Citizenship Certificate. [3][4][5]

She is buried at the Tonihka Cemetery, Eagletown, McCurtain County, Oklahoma.[6]

Research Notes

Eagletown was originally named "osi yamaha" or Eagle, Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory. In 1850 the town name was changed to Eagle Town. Then in 1892 it was changed to Eagletown Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory. Oklahoma's statehood on November 16, 1907 changed to its present name Eagletown, McCurtain County, Oklahoma, Unites States
