Biography

Albert Edward Blunden was born on 8 August 1850. He was the youngest son of Christopher Blunden and Catherine Blunden.

He lived with his parents and siblings in Plympton, Lambton, Ontario, Canada. In the 1861 Census of Canada, Edward Blunden (aged 12) was recorded at Plympton, Lambton, Canada West with his father Christopher Blunden (55), his mother Catherine Blunden (51) and his siblings Trevor Blunden (26, a Labourer), Simon Blunden (25, a Labourer), Humphrey Blunden (23), John Blunden (19), Rebecca Blunden (21), Rose Blunden (17) and Christo Blunden (14)^[1].

His father Christopher died on 26 July 1870 at about age 64. His mother Catherine died about four years later, in 1874.

He married Emma Jane McMullen (the daughter of Robert C McMullen) on 19 November 1879 at Sarnia, Lambton, Ontario^[2]. They went on to have at least four children.

In the 1891 Census of Canada, Edward Blunden (aged 41 and a Merchant) was recorded living with his wife Emma Blunden (33) and their two children Olive Blunden (10) and Lloyd Blunden (7) at Sarnia Town, Lambton West, Ontario. Also in the household was one Lodger^[3].

He and his family emigrated from Canada to the United States where they lived in Detroit Ward 3, Wayne, Michigan.

Albert E Blunden (aged 69 and a Clerk) was recorded living with his wife Emma Blunden (59) and their daughter Lucy M Blunden (27) at Highland Park, Wayne, Michigan in the 1920 United States Federal Census^[4].

Albert Edward Blunden passed away on 25 September 1926 at the age of 76, due to Uremia (with Chronic Interstitial Nephritis and Hypertrophic Prostate)^[5]. He was buried on 28 September 1926 at Lakeview Cemetery, Sarnia, Lambton County, Ontario, Canada. ^[6]
