Biography

Keller Bluitt is a part of US Black heritage.

Keller was born in 1896. He was the son of Isaac Bluitt and Lucinda Smith. In 1900 he was living with his parents and siblings in Freestone County, Texas. ^[1]

Keller served in the U.S. Army during World War I from 1918 to 1919.^[2]

In 1930 Keller and wife Emily Beal Bluitt and one daughter were living in Dallas, Texas where he worked for a car company.^[3][4]

Keller married Velma Simmons in Dallas County, Texas in 1941.^[5] In 1950 they were living in Dallas County, Texas where he was a night watchman. No children were in the household.^[6]

Keller was still married to Velma when he passed away in 1962 in Midway, Madison County, Texas. He was buried in the Grove Island African Methodist Episcopal Cemetery, Teague, Freestone County, Texas. ^[7]
