Biography
Mary Blower, daughter of James and Hannah, was born about 1837 in Minsterley, Shropshire, England. She was baptised on 16 Apr 1837 at Westbury, Shropshire, England.
She married William Crowther in 1867 in Atcham, Shropshire, England.
Mary Crowder (age 46, from Shropshire) emigrated to Australia in 1884 with her family on the ship "Westmeath", which sailed from London on 28th April 1884 and arrived in Hobart, Tasmania on 22 June 1884. She was traveling with:
- her daughters: Mary B. Crowder (age 14) and Minnie H. Crowder (age 8)
- her (adopted) son: James Blower (age 5)
- her daughter: Ruth Williams (age 25)
- her grand daughters: Sarah Williams (age 2 1/2) and Lilly M. Williams (2 months)
Mary Crowder died on 4 Mar 1896, aged 59 years, at St John Street, Launceston, Tasmania, Australia (from Premature old age). Her death was reported in the Daily Telegraph (Launceston, Tas. : 1883 - 1928) Fri 6 Mar 1896 Page 2 Family Notices:
