John was born in 1894 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was the son of John Blouin and Emma Nicholson.[1] He was raised by his parents in New Orleans.[2][3]
John served in the U.S. Army as a 1st Sergeant in the 334th Labor Battalion during World War I.[4]
John married Agnes Francois in 1922 in New Orleans.[5] By 1930 they had moved to Chicago, along with his extended family, and had 4 children at home. John was working for the post office.[6]
In 1940 John was listed as widowed and head of a household in Chicago that included 6 children.[7]
In 1950 John was listed as widowed and living with another family in Chicago.[8]
He passed away in 1968 in Illinois[9]. He was buried in Saint Mary Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum, Evergreen Park, Cook County, Illinois.[10]
