The wife of George Downing and mother of Honorable Emanuel Downing is variously reported as either Dorcas Bellamy or Dorcas Blois. According to a detailed review presented on RootsWeb, the name of that person is unknown: There was no such person as Dorcas Blois Bellamy. It's difficult to know the name of George Downing's wife as - George Downing's wife's first name on her burial record St. Lawrence Church, Ipswich, Suffolk is shown with 2 marks and a gap between them.
